After completing the Fall mission of RU23 along the Rutgers Endurance Line, the 2024-2025 MOO students have once again successfully deployed, piloted, and recovered the glider for a Spring mission. This achievement enables seasonal comparisons of New Jersey shelf waters while providing invaluable hands-on experience with operational ocean observing technologies.
This marks the sixth deployment in an ongoing student-led sampling initiative along the transect, carried out by successive cohorts of MOO students. Collectively, these efforts have seen RU23 in operation for 119 days, covering over 2,500 kilometers.
