RUCOOL Metocean Station SODAR

Sodar Wind Barbs - 24 Hours Sodar Wind Barbs - 3 Days The above plots show a time series of wind barbs (past 24 hours in the upper figure, past 3 days in the lower figure). Wind barbs are able to depict both wind speed and direction in a single icon, where the speed is indicated by the number of short lines (“barbs”), and the direction the wind is blowing FROM is indicated by the end with the barbs. A small circle indicates calm winds (< 2 kt), and any gaps are times/heights where the data quality is reported as < 60%. The gray horizontal line indicates a 160 m wind turbine hub height. You can find more detail on reading wind barbs from the National Weather Service.
