Jackie Veatch has been awarded an NSF OCE Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Jacquelyn (Jackie) Veatch has recently been awarded the NSF Ocean Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for her proposal “It’s the Little Things That Count; Episodic Contributions of Antarctic Circumpolar Current Fronts to Southern Ocean Carbon Sequestration”. This project will investigate physical mechanisms of episodic biological production and subsequent carbon sequestration at Antarctic Circumpolar Current fronts, bringing together in-situ and satellite observations for a wholistic view of ocean physics and biogeochemical cycling. Jackie defended her dissertation here at Rutgers in July, “Physical Mechanisms of Food Web Focusing” and will be taking her fellowship to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.
