Error Bars
Posted on May 22nd, 2009 No commentsThe document “Ship Detection at Codar” states on page 38 “Each instance is
represented by a square (error box) with the half height as the uncertainty (σ by (14)) and
half length as the half FFT window”So the full length is represented by the full length of the FFT? Reference 14 is a private communication with Jimmy Isaccson. Jimmy, can comment on how the standard deviation is calculated?

I think she means equation 14, not reference 14. And I don’t know what she means by ‘half FFT window’.
My initial impression of this Blog forum is not good. I cannot save and zoom-into the figures as I can with email. In this case I have the document to refer to. But in general it would not be possible. The overall navigation is cumbersome. But, like I said, it’s an initial impression.

Corrected image – now it is zoomable – it was inserted as thumbnail only. Not sure how to improve navigation – there are one blog and 2 posts – not much to navigate around… let me know what can be improved.
