Short Bio:
I am from Neptune City, NJ and graduated from Rutgers in 2025 with an undergraduate degree in Marine Science and minor in Fisheries. In the past year I’ve been volunteering at RUMFS Tuckerton on their continued bridge netting efforts, assisting Ken Able with sorting preserved specimens. I also had the pleasure of horseshoe crab tagging with the American Littoral Society, surveying glass eels with JC NERR, and anything else I can do to further my knowledge in the field. During my undergraduate studies I was able to work on trawl surveys to gather data on smooth and spiny dogfish as well as incorporating side-scan sonar for a poster I presented for the MAC/AFS meeting in 2024. This foray into research really sparked my love for this field and showed me that even if the hours are long, it never feels like work. I am interested in learning more about remote sensing technologies such as acoustic telemetry to use in conjunction with physical oceanography to properly understand the environment organisms live in, so I can help further conservation on macrofauna!
