RUCOOL contributes to a high level of academic scholarship. The faculty have authored 196 peer-reviewed publications, 6 book chapters and over 48 extended symposia abstracts and 28 vetted formal reports over the last 5 years. Peer-reviewed publications have been in many high profile journals including Nature, Science, Royal Society, and Scientific Reports. The faculty have received significant external recognitions and awards. Faculty have served on numerous National Academy Studies, as well as on national and international science advisory boards. The faculty and research staff have been awarded over 300 projects over the last 5 years with funding coming from federal (NSF, NOAA, NASA, NAS, DoD, DoE, USDA), state (NJ DEP, NJ BPU, NYSERDA), private companies (Vineyard Offshore, Ortsed, Atlantic Shores, Teledyne), foundations (Vetlesen, Schmidt, Green Climate Fund), and international funding sources (Micronesia, UN).
