Short Bio:
I completed my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University, majoring in Physical Oceanography and minoring in Mathematics. I have always known that I wanted to use technology to help our oceans, and physical oceanography was the perfect fit, allowing me to apply mathematics, computer science, and data analysis to ocean science problems.
During my REU at University of South Florida, I conducted research with Dr. Steven Meyers and Dr. Mark Luther on facilitating historical tide gauge digitization using artificial intelligence. My work focused on improving the efficiency and accuracy of converting historical oceanographic records into digital datasets that can be used for modern analysis.
I was drawn to the Master of Operational Oceanography program because of its emphasis on real-time observations, forecasting, and applied ocean science. Looking ahead, I hope to leverage machine learning and advanced data analytics to improve ocean current forecasts and develop high-resolution current mapping tools that enhance maritime navigation and improve our understanding of small-scale ocean dynamics and water mass movement.
