Diurnal heating in Cloud Filtered SST product

May 25th, 2010 No comments

Hi All, I’ve been reviewing mini movies of the SSTs and notice that there is a slight diurnal heating pattern, even in the 8 day averages. I expected it in the 1 day averages, but not the 8 day averages as much. It is also much more noticeable in the gulf region because we are plotting such a narrow temperature range. I’ll work on switching over to night time only passes as a new product.

Real-Time Cloud filtered SST data kmz

May 22nd, 2010 2 comments

Hi All,

Here is a kmz file that updates with real-time cloud filtered SST data at four different time averages (latest pass, 24 hour average, 3 day average, 8 day average).

I’m not sure how to add it to the kmz resource list

Good Luck to all!
